Merry Christmas! (Part 1)

Mr. Frank: What am I going to give Doll Face for Christmas? I want to give her something special, but she asked Santa for world peace, an end to hunger, and some bling. I can't give her any of that. It's hopeless!

Ceecee: Nothing is ever hopeless, Frank. Put your thinking cap on!

Mr. Frank: What to do? What to do? What to do? Peace? Hunger? Bling?

Mr. Frank: Ceecee, I've got it!

Ding-dong!

Mr. Frank: Merry Christmas, Doll Face!

Lilly Faye: Hi, Frank. Come on in!

Mr. Frank: Remember how you asked Santa Claus for an end to hunger? Well, we can't feed the entire world, but we can feed our part of it. I cooked up a bunch of food, and I'd be honored if you'd go with me to serve Christmas meals at our local shelters.

Lilly Faye: That's a brilliant idea, Frank! You're a wonderful boyfriend!

Mr. Frank: Smooch! And that's not all!

To be continued...

All I Want for Christmas

Mr. Frank: Hi, Doll Face. Want to go caroling with me tonight?

Lilly Faye: Sure, Frank. That sounds like fun.

Mr. Frank: Bring your tambourine. I'm bringing my tuba. I've been practicing lots of Christmas songs.

Lilly Faye: Okay. I was writing my letter to Santa before you got here. How does this sound?
Dear Santa Claus,
I have been a pretty good girl this year. I know you already brought me a tin of yummy cookies, but I am also asking for world peace, an end to hunger, and a little bling for myself.
Love,
Lilly Faye

Mr. Frank: Wow, that's a tall order! Say, about those cookies...

Lilly Faye: I'm sorry I can't offer you one of them, Frank. I lost control and ate them all. They were the best cookies I ever had.

Mr. Frank: Really?! Thanks!

Lilly Faye: What?

Mr. Frank: Never mind, Doll Face. I'm just glad Santa left them for you.

Lilly Faye: You only have to believe, Frank, and good things will come to you, too!

Lilly Faye's Movie Review: Guardians of the Galaxy, starring Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Vin Diesel, and Bradley Cooper

Dear Readers,

My blog staff, Dizzie and Alfie, and I watched Guardians of the Galaxy over the weekend. It's based on a Marvel Comic about a ragtag team of heros, Peter Quill (Chris Pratt, The Lego Movie, Parks and Recreation), Gamora (Zoe Saldana, Star Trek), Drax the Destroyer (wrestling star Dave Bautista), Groot (Vin Diesel, Fast & Furious), and Rocket (Bradley Cooper, American Hustle), who come together to save the galaxy from the evil Ronan (Lee Pace).

(See my review of The Lego Movie here, and my review of American Hustle here. )

The plot of Guardians of the Galaxy is simple. The heros fight the bad guys for possession of a powerful orb, taking viewers along on a fun ride. It has proven to be a hugely popular movie, full of humor and spectacular special effects.

My favorite characters are the computer generated Groot, a tree with human-like features, and Rocket, a genetically engineered, gunslinging raccoon.

Dizzie:  "I am Groot."

Lilly Faye: Well, you do eat a lot of wood, Diz.

Alfie Cat: I don't like raccoons. They are well known for stealing cat food.

Lilly Faye: Rocket the raccoon is a great character, Alfie. The movie wouldn't have been nearly as good without him.

Guardians of the Galaxy is a perfect movie for the holidays, when you're too stressed and over-scheduled to concentrate on a heavy film.

Mr. Frank: I would've loved to have seen this one with you, Doll Face. Shouldn't Saturday night be our date night?

Lilly Faye: I'm sorry, Frank. I didn't ask you to come with me, because I was working. You'll just have to get used to the idea that you're dating a working poodle.

Dizzie: Besides, it was my house, my sofa, and my Blu-ray disc.

Lilly Faye: Okay, boys. It's time to rate the movie.

Lilly Faye's Movie Rating: Two Paws Up!

Christmas Shopping with the One I Love

Mr. Frank: That's three bags...

Mr. Frank: Five...

Mr. Frank: Seven...I think this is the last of them, Doll Face.

Lilly Faye: My purse is still in the car, Frank.

Mr. Frank: And your purse.

Mr. Frank: Is that everything?

Lilly Faye: Yep. That's all of them.

Lilly Faye: Thanks for taking me Christmas shopping, Frank. I never could have managed everything by myself.

Lilly Faye: You're a good boyfriend, Frank. Kiss, kiss.

Mr. Frank: Anything for you, Doll Face. Smooch!

Next door, a few minutes later...

Ceecee: So how was the shopping trip, Frank?

Mr. Frank: Ask me tomorrow, after I've had a chance to recover. Yawn.

A Little Motivation Works Wonders

Mr. Frank: Good, there's no one around. The coast is clear. I might as well get started.

Mr. Frank: Puff...puff...puff...

Mr. Frank: This is quite a workout.

Mr. Frank: Grunt...grunt...grunt...

Mr. Frank: Whew!

Mr. Frank: Time for a little break.

Lilly Faye: Frank, what a surprise. I've never seen you looking so...so...

Mr. Frank: What, Doll Face? Tired? Sweaty?

Lilly Faye: So sexy, Frank. I've never seen you looking so rugged and sexy.

Mr. Frank: Really? You think I look sexy?

Lilly Faye: You sure do, Frank. I'm glad I came over to ask you to take me Christmas shopping, otherwise I would have missed the chance to watch you work out.

Mr. Frank: Anything for you, Doll Face. Just let me finish my exercises.

Mr. Frank: I've suddenly got my second wind!
